First practice for an absolute age

This is the first time I've picked the guitar up since I changed the strings. The intonation still isn't quite right, so a bit of work is still needed.

Unsurprisingly, I've not made any improvements in my playing, last time I picked up an instrument was around two months ago.

I have almost decided to pick on a handful of songs to focus on, and get them to a standard that I will risk playing in public with, I need to decide on which songs and give myself a target date to get up and annoy an audience.

In other news, I have bought some additional items for the sound engineering work I want to do. I've now got a Focusrite Octopre Mk II Dynamic to go with the Scarlet 18i20, and have them in a rinky dinky flight case. This means I can record 16 channels at the same time, although this is more inputs than my snake can handle, without abusing the return signals. Although miking up a drum kit, three singers and two guitars it will cope with.

I have signed up for an on-line course to learn how to use the Ableton Live software, but the Lite version that was bundled with the Scarlet interface only supports four inputs, so I'll need to fork out for that software as well. In the interim I'm planning on using the Ubuntu Studio operating system and the Reaper software.

Recording a drum kit needs more than a couple of microphones, and to help with this I've obtained a drum mike set. They have only been used a couple of times, and do make a difference to the sound the kit makes. The only think I'm disappointed with, is the clips for fastening the microphones onto a kit. The first time I tried them, two clips broke, and a third broke the second time. I've since replaced the clips with more robust ones.

I have spent 322  hours playing on the Rocksmith games, in this session I played for 24 minutes.

It has been 96 days since I played all the song arrangements, and it would take around 31 hours to play them in one session. I don't think that is going to be likely!

This is the full list of songs that I have played on the two versions of the Rocksmith game.
The two versions of the game have different methods of calculating the scores. The original version just had the score, streak and percentage. In Rocksmith 2014 the score was dropped from the main results, and a mastery and an overall result was added.

The overall result can be over 100%, this occurs when a song is played in master mode. In Master mode, the game hides the notes you are expected to play. When you manage to successfully play the song in master mode, you have learned the song and should be able to play the song alongside a band or backing track.
