I was having a good time playing today, and in a moment of madness, I had a try at playing rhythm on the guitar today. I'm still working on the spreadsheet to track the plays (and trying to work out the best way to present it).

Just a quick session today, and didn't manage to meet my target for playing Next Girl, I made a couple of mistakes towards the middle of the song. I was expecting to mess up much more than this though, so I should be thankful. C'est la vie.

A Birthday Night Out

Last night I went to O'Connells in Middlesbrough to catch an open mic night. As always the standard is very high there, and it is heartening to see that very experienced musicians make mistakes in songs.

The people playing were: Ian Swinburn, Andy Brewster, Claire Louise, Andy X, Marie Marx, Ste, Jacob Lynch, Jim Hayden, Dekker and Andy Houghton playing. Ian, Andy B and Claire Louise did a second set (and Claire and Andy B sneaked in an extra unplugged song while the bar staff were trying to get us to leave).

These are my results for the last two lunchtime practice sessions, I'm unlikely to get an evening session in before next week as it's a little hectic at work and I'm spending as much of my free time working on coding problems.
