Last one for the month. Probably...

On the original Rocksmith I played 12 songs for around 46 minutes. Quite happy about tonights practice, it's probably going to be the last one this month though.

I've made some progress with all three songs in the set I'm currently working on and getting closer to 10% over the qualifier score to have a go at the set. I've included Next Girl so that I can hopefully get an encore.

Finally Qualified with Gobbledigook!

On the original Rocksmith I played 6 songs for around 19 minutes, and on Rocksmith 2014 I played for around 2 hours with James. He pinched the rhythm option leaving me to play the lead. Again. We didn't note scores for the Rocksmith today though.

Main happy note was that I got a high enough score to qualify to play the set at a "performance" and not before time either. I intend to play the three needed a few more times before attempting the set though, and will be adding Next Girl to see if I can make sure I sneak an encore into the set.

Focus on clearing a set

Instead of my usual run through of songs I focussed on the songs to complete the next set, playing for around 28 minutes.

The main song I needed to work on was Gobbledigook needing 41000 points to get qualified. I did get closer to the target, earning 39336 points my best attempt to date.

With Islands I managed to get well past the qualifier finally with the help of the riff repeater on the intro section. The riff repeater plays a section of the song up to 25 times until you play the section correctly. I had bumped the difficulty up a little to work on something slightly more challenging.

I'm happy with Next Girl as long as the score is above 100,000 and 95% accuracy. I'd be ecstatic if I ever get 100% accuracy, best so far was 98%.

My plan for tomorrow is to do the same thing, play each of the set list songs once (warming up with Next Girl and possibly Angela) then use the riff repeater on Gobbledigook until I get past the qualifier. I think playing the three songs for the set at least twice each would be a good idea too.

A second practice today

After a very pleasant afternoon out, I played for around 22 minutes before going out for a meal.

I'm still working on getting Gobbledigook to the qualifier level and also need to work out and memorise the score for Next Girl so I can manage to play it without the music.

Improved Songs

Gobbledigook another slight improvement in the total score, I am around 650 points away from meeting the qualification score. More work on the Riff Repeater is planned for tomorrow morning and hopefully I'll get to qualify and get some new songs to learn.

Not a successful session

On the original Rocksmith I played 11 songs for around 42 minutes. Not the most successful session I've done, only one minor improvement.

Rebel Rebel I have picked up some of the progress I lost last time and have levelled up on a couple of sections.

I'm going to see if I can fit another session in today, but will have to wait to see.

Deciding how to work my practices in future

On the original Rocksmith I played 11 songs for around 40 minutes actual playing time and 70 minutes wall clock time.

On Gobbledigook I practiced the intro using the riff repeater and increased the mastery slightly. I'm planning on working on the intros for all the set list songs until they hit 100%, then moving inwards a section as each improves.

I'm considering adding another song to the best practice group to see if I can get another one at 100% mastery of each section. It will just take a little time...

Two weeks to go

On the original Rocksmith I played 11 songs for around 41 minutes (I played Gobbledigook twice).

I managed to unlock the Dirty Angst tone on the game today too.

Very pleased with my attempt at Angela, as I increased the score by nearly 5%. Still happy with my progress with Next Girl, and think I'm getting really close to being able to play this without the notes on screen.
