Nothing like a good play on the guitar. And tonight was nothing like it

Today I played 10 songs for around 39 minutes on the original Rocksmith, and about an hour on Rocksmith 2014.

Rocksmith notes

With an improvement in half the songs I played, I'm fairly pleased. I was even more happy to get 97% of Next Girl right. I can almost see that at some time next year I will be able to play all of the notes. I'm still not sure what I'll be able to do without the notes on screen.

I'm still trying to get Burnished, Gobbledigook and Islands all above the qualifier enough to risk going for the performance and the next set of songs to torture myself with. It's not going to happen this year though!

Rocksmith 2014

I thought I'd work through some of the recommendations. The Riff Repeater, although likely to make a significant improvement in scores, doesn't half get me frustrated.

I started by playing String Skip Saloon getting 119,070 points, then had a run at Ducks Redux with 78,500 points.

I decided to focus on Losing My Religion, not one of the easiest songs to play in the selection I suspect. This version of Rocksmith gives you some suggestions on what to try. These are a combinations of lessons, guitarcade games and the cursed riff repeater.

I had two attempts at the song, and improved on the second attempt.

Working out how to measure the stats for this version of the game is going to be interesting I think. One thing I need to see about is getting the PS linked through the wifi and putting the scores on the main Rocksmith site.
