And a Monday Evening Session

Todays planned lunchtime practice failed to happen, as my high E string snapped just as I was about to start playing. Sigh.

So a new string attached, always good fun and a practice this evening instead.

Although the first time I played Blood and Thunder I didn't seem to enjoy it and had put in my 'practice only rarely' list, I played it today and quite enjoyed it. So it's now back in the normal practice list.

I still haven't worked out why Paint it, Black keeps dropping my levels, but I am a long way from being able to play the song properly.

Recently I have played the following songs out of the 203 song arrangements I have been learning.

Rocksmith 2014

Sweet Mountain River by Monster Truck. I improved on my overall playing and gained 86% right.

Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana. I improved on my overall playing and gained 89% right.

Mary Jane's Last Dance by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I beat my previous overall score with 31.6%.

For A Fool by The Shins. I beat my previous overall score with 42.3%.

Paint It, Black by The Rolling Stones.

R U Mine by Arctic Monkeys.

Blood and Thunder by Mastodon. I beat my previous overall score with 24.1%.

This is the full list of songs that I have played on the two versions of the Rocksmith game.
The two versions of the game have different methods of calculating the scores. The original version just had the score, streak and percentage. In Rocksmith 2014 the score was dropped from the main results, and a mastery and an overall result was added.

The overall result can be over 100%, this occurs when a song is played in master mode. In Master mode, the game hides the notes you are expected to play. When you manage to successfully play the song in master mode, you have learned the song and should be able to play the song alongside a band or backing track.
