Tailor's mense

A small portion left by way of good manners. In some parts of the North it is the custom for the village tailor to work at his customer's house, and to partake of the hospitality of the family board. On these occasions the best fare is invariably provided; at least such was the case when I was a boy; and the tailor to show that he has had enough, generally leaves a little on his plate, which is called the tailor's mense.  From mense, decency, propriety of conduct, good manners, kindness,hospitality.

I'm sort of organised with my list of words and phrases, so will probably include them in most of my blog entries.

One way to decide if I've improved is to see how many of the songs I've practised is to see how many of them have results better than a previous result for that song. Using that measure, I have eight of the fourteen songs showing signs of improvement.

To date, I have spent 334 hours playing on the Rocksmith games, in this session I played for 50 minutes. It has been 87 days since I played all the song arrangements, and it would take around 31 hours to play them in one session. I don't think that is going to be likely!

If you've been following this blog (and thank you!), you might have noticed that I have been tending to do around 14 songs each session. There is a very good reason for this: the A4 notebook I use has 30 lines on, so two practices fit on one page.

Me and the Bean by Spoon. I scored 72.7% overall. I improved on my overall playing and gained 91% right.

Sixteen Saltines by Jack White.

Black Magic by Magic Wands. I beat my previous overall score with 31.8%.

X-Kid by Green Day.

Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard.

For A Fool by The Shins. I beat my previous overall score with 45.4%.

Six AM Salvation by VsThem. I beat my previous overall score with 63.4%.

Sore Tummy by Paws. I beat my previous overall score with 53.0%.

R U Mine by Arctic Monkeys.

This is the full list of songs that I have played on the two versions of the Rocksmith game.
The two versions of the game have different methods of calculating the scores. The original version just had the score, streak and percentage. In Rocksmith 2014 the score was dropped from the main results, and a mastery and an overall result was added.

The overall result can be over 100%, this occurs when a song is played in master mode. In Master mode, the game hides the notes you are expected to play. When you manage to successfully play the song in master mode, you have learned the song and should be able to play the song alongside a band or backing track.
